Any idea of where to find baby things/items at reasonable & affordable price in Paris, France?

I will be visiting Paris, France next month for 3days and intend to take advantage of bargains on all baby items(clothing, feeding, complete travel system, toys, bath item, sleeping accessories etc). I do not know a lot of place in Paris and will appreciate information (web address, shop/store location, open market etc) on where to look. Though I intend to visit the district area where the OPERA is located and will be arriving in Paris via the Charles de Gaulle (airport).

Second Q: What bus ticket (prefer to travel by bus so I can see the beauty of the places around me) do you feel is suitable for my 3 days visit?

Please all information will be highly appreciated.

Many thanks

Medie

We have got most of our baby stuff from MONOPRIX. It's a chain of stores, there are between 1-7 in each area of Paris. They have baby clothes, toys, games, all kinds of equipment, the prices are about as low as you can get for new stuff. Below is the link to the English language site for their store on Avenue des Champs Elysees.

Follow essonne's advice for transport, and happy shopping.

If you are in tight budget you can find all the things you need for the baby including baby seat at the big supermarket likes

Carefour, Auchan, L'ecler, But if you are going to OPERA you can pass by too at the galery Lafayette, Inside surely you can find nice things for your baby try to visit the Petit Bateau shop inside LAFAYETTE or PRINGTEMPS. Good Luck!

If you will try to ride Le Metro in Paris just be careful from pick pocket
Hi Medie,

I'm not really sure that you'll find bargains on baby things/items in Paris, especially near Opera. Things are usually very expensive in central Paris.

We are expecting the birth of our son at the end of May, and have looked into finding bargains. We have only found occasional events organised in the Paris region which sell second hand baby things. For the moment we've not visited one, although we may go to an event organised next weekend in Br茅tigny sur Orge, about an hours train ride from central Paris. Again this is for second hand stuff.

We are perhaps lucky in that my brother and sister in law have a 5 year old and so we'll inherit anything they no longer need.

You could try the chain Tati - this shop sells bargain clothing, some of which is baby stuff.

As for travel. Buy a Carte Mobilis for your trip from Charles de Gaulle (the airport is in zone 5), which can be used on buses/train/metro for the day. There is also a card called "Paris Visite" which can also be used on all public transport and offers discounts on entry to some attractions in Paris.

Check out the links below my answer.

Remember, Paris and it's region are a lot bigger than most visitors realise. You'll have a lot to cram an awful lot into just 3 days.
